TapFastBJJ Privacy Policy

TapFastBJJ (“we”, “us”) is an app for tracking Brazilian jiu-jitsu and wrestling training. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. It applies to the TapFastBJJ iOS and Android apps and tapfastbjj.com.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Profile: the name you choose, belt and stripes, gym, bio, profile photo, and your onboarding answers (such as training style, experience, weekly goal, main goal and what you struggle with).
- Training data: class log entries and notes, technique reps and mastery, trophies, and your weekly class goal.
- AI Coach and Video Analysis: the messages you send the coach, class notes the coach reviews, and video clips (and still frames from them) you choose to analyze. See “AI features” below.
- Purchases: your subscription status. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and basic device information (device model, OS version) used to fix bugs.
Your recent AI Coach chat is stored only on your phone and clears after an hour of inactivity. Weekly recap and reminder notifications are scheduled on your phone and only appear if you allow notifications.
How we use it
- To run the app: your account, class log, mastery tracking, trophies and the leaderboard.
- To give you AI coaching and video feedback when you ask for it.
- To manage your subscription, free trial and promo codes.
- To send the notifications you turned on, such as the Sunday recap and occasional TapFastBJJ reminders and offers.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.
AI features
When you use the AI Coach, class log pointers or Video Analysis, the messages you write, your class notes, relevant profile and training details (such as belt, experience and recent classes) and the video frames you choose to analyze are sent to Anthropic, PBC, which provides the Claude AI model, to generate your feedback. This data is used only to respond to you. It is not used to train AI models or for advertising. The app asks for your permission before sending any of it, and you can keep using the rest of the app if you decline.
What other users can see
The leaderboard and public profiles show your chosen name, profile photo, belt, gym, technique rep counts and trophies to other TapFastBJJ users. Your email, class notes, coach chats and video clips are never shown to other users. Names that break our rules are hidden on the leaderboard.
Our website
- Android waitlist: if you join it, we store your email address only to tell you when TapFastBJJ launches on Android. Email us to be removed.
- Usage stats: we count page visits (Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies) and taps on the App Store button, including which ad or link brought you there. This is not linked to you personally.
Service providers we share data with
- Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in and file storage.
- Anthropic: powers the AI Coach and Video Analysis (see above).
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google: handle subscriptions and purchases.
- Apple and Google sign-in: if you choose to sign in with them.
- Sentry: receives crash reports.
- Vercel: hosts tapfastbjj.com and provides its visit statistics.
These providers only process data to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger or sale of the app, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, class log, mastery data, trophies, uploaded clips and analyses are deleted right away. Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat under their own policies. Crash reports are deleted automatically after a limited period.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your name, gym, bio and photo anytime in Settings.
- Turn notifications off in Settings or in your phone’s settings.
- Decline the AI permission prompt to keep your data from being sent to Anthropic.
- Delete your account and data from Settings in the app. Instructions: tapfastbjj.com/delete-account.
- Email us to request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion.
Children
TapFastBJJ is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your account data is restricted to you. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app.
